Hermes Closes US Boutiques Among COVID Surge
We have just heard it from Pursebop that Hermes has closed their NY and Los Angeles Stores due to COVID either sweeping through their employees and or customers or that the low inventory that we have been mentioning has forced closures. I highly doubt it is due to low inventory, as Hermes I do not believe would close it stores a few days before the busiest shopping days of the year. On top of their main flagship stores such as Beverly Hills and Madison Ave being the closures.
According to Pursebop…”“Due to an abundance of caution related to recent accelerated transmission of COVID, Hermès Beverly Hills will be closed this week for your safety and that of our employees. We will reopen on Monday, December 27th. We apologize for any inconvenience.”
The Beverly Hills store’s telephone message states:
“Thank you for calling Hermès located at 434 N. Rodeo Drive. We are currently closed. We are open to the public Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. pacific time. You may also check Hermès.com for our most up to date store hours.Hermès prioritizes the health of our clients and employees. We are taking all necessary measures to ensure only the highest quality retail experience. Please leave your message after the tone and an Hermès shopping specialist will return your call.”
In New York City, where Covid cases have spiked recently, the Madison Ave. The boutique’s website warned that the store would be closed on Monday, December 20 for “deep cleaning”. The website recently was amended to state the store is closed on December 21.
However, according to its telephone message it is unclear how long the boutique will be closed. It states:
Madison Ave. Hermès store telephone message:
“Due to exceptional circumstances our boutique is currently closed and shopping specialists are unavailable at this time. To leave a message, please press 1 and an Hermès associate will rerun your call.”….
