Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2022 Reprise 7.2

This was a very emotional runway show for so many people across the world who tuned in. It took me a few days to process all of this and that is why this post is a few days later then the major outlets. I was watching from Instagram, which has over 26k viewers at one point - the show started with a movie of a boy (whom I assume was suppose to be Virgil Abloh) starting in the streets in a metropolitan city and then following this balloon through the world to his dreams in the sky. The cameras then panned to the runway which was a wharf in Miami FL which was taken over by Louis Vuitton. They had remade the wharf into an eco space with the city of Miami by planting Palm Trees and making it a space for people to enjoy after their show.

First looks were very strong with this men’s collection and had a very vibrant colors as shown in Virigil’s collection. The bags are amazing with a ombre neon green and blue mini speedy and gorgeous winter looks intertwined with spring summer. As the collection featured TONS of models, one of the largest shows I have ever seen, it was finished with the Louis Vuitton team coming out and watching fireworks in the sky. Drones in the sky followed with the messages “Virgil was here”.

As we later find out from social media and other outlets, the guests to the runway show were taken by army gray boats to this wharf in Miami, on the side of then boats read 7.2 as this was Virgils 7th collection with the Louis Vuitton Fashion House and it was a reprise of his Spring/Summer 2022 collection. Louis Vuitton then had a statue of Virgil Abloh outside the runway show lit up where you can see celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Kanye West and their daughter North West standing in attendance of Virgils final show. We are loving the collection that will be out and I love the diversity Louis Vuitton showed with men’s in ball gowns, as we need to move into a more diverse mindset, however I am not sure how it will resonate with the old school LV customers.

I personally, loved the entire show and it is still an emotional time for us as we are still grieving this huge fashion loss. We have been covering Virgil from the beginning of his time at the Louis Vuitton fashion house and we are still taking this all in. From all his bags, accessories, small leather goods and his choice for models, campaigns plus his take on the LV brand, which we have experienced first hand - we are devastated.

I hope everyone loved the show as much as I did and everyone at Collecting Luxury. We hope to bring you more and more from these amazing luxury fashion houses daily. Thank you for being a loyal supporter of Collecting Luxury - we truly appreciate your support!
