When You Have Completed Your Hand Bag Collection...
I remember the first time I saw an Hermes Birkin bag. It was back in the early 2000’s when Samantha Jones from Sex and the City was wanting the Birkin 35cm Rouge with Gold Hardware at $4,000 USD. Ultimately, I loved the style, simplicity and the art that is the Birkin bag - I fell head over heals. I of course at that time had no time to go out and purchase one however when my days in fashion started to prosper, I had my eyes set on these beauties.
I saw a picture from a friend of mine who had a rainbow of Hermes Birkins, starting from red going to orange, yellow, green, blue and purple - I loved this photo and probably have it posted somewhere early on our IG. I have now completed all the colors in the rainbow - and a few others to trickle in there - and now I feel my collection is complete.
I have been a collector my entire life and I have started from beanie babies to trading cards to bags to Birkins and now I feel I have achieved what I set out to achieve with having an array of bags in all colors that I can use for the rest of my life and which will always be in style. A forever classic.
I do have the bags that go in between Hermes - the Chanel, LV and a few other designers but my main love is the Hermes hand crafted bags that I have now dedicated a blog to for the past 5 years each to posting. I know I will add other Birkin bags into my collection as life continues, however it is nice to know and feel that accomplishment of what you set your goals to be. It took me 8 years to make the rainbow of Hermes Birkin & Kelly bags however I wouldn’t of changed anything in the process - even of how stressful some of those instances are when trying to go for a coveted bag.
Where are you in your process for hand bag collection? Are you almost done collecting? Will it be an ongoing collection?? COMMENT BELOW!
