SUMMER MUST! Chanel S/S 2019 Wicker Picnic Bag

We are in LOVE with the Chanel Spring/Summer 2019 Wicker Picnic Bag this season! As you can see on most designer runways this past year for the spring/summer 2019 collections were wicker bags. Chanel did not disappoint with this super cutie as it has the woven wicker wood along with white leather and the infamous Chanel strap with silver hardware.

As we are all patiently waiting on the arrival from Hermes on their new Kelly 20cm Picnic Bag, which are all hand made btw, we have this beautiful collectors Chanel runway bag in front of us, dangling asking to be taken home. Being that the demand is high for the upcoming release oft the Hermes Kelly Picnic Mini, the wait is also longed as production has taken an extra six months from the suspected release in May of 2019 now moved to November 2019, we can’t help but keep admiring the Chanel 2019 Wicker bag.

Chanel did not hesitate though on the release. The french couture house had these gorgeous bags out right on time at the tip of spring. Traveling around North American to over 10 Chanel boutiques in recent months, I have seen these PRICEY Chanel bags (retail $9,895.00 USD including sales tax) in almost every boutique. I think the price tag will throw off a lot of Chanel’s customers as this pricey wicker bag is about the price of a Hermes Birkin 25cm bag.

When trying on the bag, I noticed a major flaw in the design. The strap cannot be put in the bag without the bag not being able to close at the top. The strap has to be worn outside the bag and it does not detach from the bag so you have to either have it worn on your shoulder or have the strap hanging to the floor. I wish that was an option accessory and that if not, they would of found a way to close the bag securely.

My final thoughts are this, I love this Chanel wicker bag, I have tried it on at almost every Chanel boutique in the black leather option and the white leather option however the price is a bit steep for this MAJOR collectors bag. I think the value of this bag will increase over time but if you are about to put that type of money into a bag, I rather put my money into the Hermes Kelly Picnic Mini as this bag will be worth a lot more over time than the Chanel any day.
