Do Hermes Sales Associates Make Commission on Quota Bags?

The answer is NO. Hermes Sales Associates do not make commissions on any quota bags such as the infamous Hermes Birkin, Kelly or Constance bags - or even Limited Edition bags such as the Shadow, Picnic, Picto Doll, etc. The Hermes SA’s do make commissions on everything else in the store including other leather bags and leather goods. Each department in Hermes such as shoes, home goods, cosmetics, jewelry, fine jewelry, RTW, etc - all have different commission percentages that they earn depending on the department.

This commission scale is widely used throughout the retail industry as most of the main department stores have the same sliding scale for each department. Fine Jewelry and Shoes are usually the highest paid in commission’s however if you are a SA at Hermes, leather goods could be a contender.

With this information now, you can understand why you Sales Associate at Hermes would like you to spend around $10k or more in other goods in order to get your Hermes Quota bag as it then reflects the purchase of the sale price of one of those bags. The SA would then get that commission in other areas from the customer than directly from the Quota bag commission. Having a relationship with your SA really does help as the are their to assist you and help guide you in your purchasing.
