Hermes USA Merchandise Shortage
I just did a quick jaunt around the west cost of the US and I stopped into over 5 boutiques. General consensus is that each store did not have enough merchandise. One SA told me , they are displaying pieces that they wouldn't normally have out for shoppers to see and they don’t have a choice as they cannot have empty retail space.
Almost every boutique had very little or had the same pieces, that aren’t selling right now. I saw the same jewelry over and over however it is from the past seasons. With the Parisian workshops not being able to work, the product quantity has been lowered….EXTREMELY. I did ask about any quota bags, “NONE” of course and NO Mini bags, again of course, however they did not have many Evelyne’s, Garden Party bags or even Jige clutches, which I have always seen at boutiques.
I am now understanding that the demand is very strong and the quantities are not. When you find a piece you love, buy it then because it might be gone sooner than you think or you might not find it again.
