History of the Classic Hermes Orange Box

The story behind the history of the classic Hermes Orange Box is as follows….

World War II was nearly over and the wartime shortages were not. The box that defined the Hermes elegance was no longer available, no gold trimmed cream or beige paper for boxes anywhere to be found. The only choice left? Orange. The color nobody wanted. Faced with that or nothing, the orange Hermes box was born.

With a new symbol of elegance, the warm tone and grainy texture reflect the house leather heritage. Made vibrant with the 1960’s exuberance, the new look of Hermes was complete.
