How Can you Tell if a Cartier Bracelet is Authentic?
Every Cartier Love bracelet is stamped with a “hallmark” that indicates the metal quality. Love Bracelets made out of 18K gold are stamped with 18K, 750 or sometimes both numbers. Platinum Love Bracelets, meanwhile, are marked with the numerals 950. There is also the size of the bracelet inside next to the other hallmarks which could be a double digit number that corresponds with the size. For example, a size 7” Cartier Love bracelet will have the stamp of 18 inside, which is Cartier sizing reference.
Also, each Cartier piece has a unique serial number for each piece that they produce. When purchasing a Cartier piece, the serial number will match the authenticity card that the Cartier boutique hand signs for each customer along with the date of purchase. This is very valuable and those papers that come with your Cartier piece should be kept somewhere safe.
Lastly, the Cartier logo should be immaculate. It should read in a slight cursive, CARTIER. If it does not have the Cartier logo - please move on. Cartier uses the highest forms of materials and craftsmanship, which is why the price is so demanding, and they will not sell anything sub par. If it doesn’t feel, weigh, or even missing a stamp on the inside of the bracelet, kindly move on.
If you do not see these stamps clearly and or the bracelet is missing any of the serial numbers, the type of precious metal it is or the size, you should reconsider purchasing that piece of jewelry. It might not be an authentic Cartier piece.
