Neiman Marcus Looking at Filing Bankruptcy
Our beloved luxury US, Dallas based, retailer - NEIMAN MARCUS - is looking to file for bankruptcy this week as Reuters is reporting. We have been seeing the decline of luxury retailers such as Barneys NYC close and now this will also affect the NYC icon department store, BERGDORF GOODMAN, which is owned by Neiman Marcus.
NEIMAN MARCUS has laid off their 14,000 employees, already which are on furlough , with just having the ‘essential workers’ for shipping out their online orders plus some customer service. All of their 40 plus stores across the USA are closed with high over head in rent due. The NEIMAN MARCUS retailer has also been said to be $4 Billion Dollars in debt and that this pandemic COVID-19 pandemic put the nail into the coffin for the luxe retailer.
We are very sad to see the closing of another iconic luxury brick and mortar retailer as we have gone to them to purchase our favorite “IT” fashion pieces or even to get your daily skin care products. They are in partnership with Fashionphile.com and we are hoping that it does not affect that luxury online retailer.
